Pete Cook personally delivers the HSE Recognised Courses, which includes his specialty in Remote, Wilderness & Mountainous areas. We run Open Course's throughout the year or we can produce a program for your group or organisation. A little About Pete & his Team Courses are delivered at the Cerrig Pryfaid training venue situated on the A487 near Porthmadog, North Wales or at your venues across the UK & Northern Ireland, or alternatively we can select a suitable venue for your Emergancy Care training.

EMERGENCY Emergancy Care Course duration: 7 Hours Course outline: This course is aimed at persons who work away from their normal office or home environment, such as, company car drivers, volunteer walking leaders, arborists, lorry drivers, farmers and the such like. This day can also be used as a refreher training day and as proven PDP for persons who hold a valid in date Emergancy Care Certificate. Course aims: Successful Candidates will be awarded the 'Appointed Persons' certificate recognised by the HSE and will able to demonstrate the following. Assess and prioritise a Emergancy Care incident Summon the emergency services Deal with an unconscious casualty Control bleeding and manage shock To recognise and deal with a wide range of common injuries & illness's Maintain records Use and maintain Emergancy Care kits The Certificate will be valid for 3 years.

Pre- Course Requirements: All persons who wish to register for this course must have attended a minimum 16 hours Emergancy Care training course and hold a valid in date Emergancy Care certificate, prior to attending this course or hold extensive up to date Emergancy Care knowledge, such as Paramedics or simular. Training Program: 32 Hours over 4 days This course will contain both theory and practical exercises in realistic conditions with extended outdoor training and casualty handling allowing candidates to gain the most from this courses. Course Description This course is suitable for persons who are likely to be organising expeditions or traveling to remote regions in all weather types and conditions for extended periods. Assessment of participant's skills takes place throughout the duration of the course, and is both in 'written and practical' format .Successful Candidates will be Awarded the 'Remote Areas Emergancy Care-Extended Care' Certificate, which is valid for 3 years. Course aims: Candidates will be able to demonstrate the following. Carryout a Emergancy Care Risk Assessment Maintain & safely keep, personal medical records To organise group hygiene and sanitation regime To arrange group Emergancy Care equipment suitable for the journey or expedition for extended periods Maintain a range of Emergancy Care kits for both On-Site and Off-Site uses Assess and prioritise a Emergancy Care incident, including multiple casualties Deal with unconscious casualties Control bleeding and manage shock Deal with and immobilise spinal injuries Monitor casualties condition/s To manage, individuals/groups and utilise these persons in a Emergancy Care setting To summon outside help To assist Professional Services in Casualty handovers To recognise and deal with a wide range of common injuries/symptoms & illness's Fully Residential Course including all meals & accomodation.

A full Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved Emergancy Care at Work course, in accordance with the Health and Safety (Emergancy Care) Regulations 1981. Once qualified, holders of this Emergancy Care at Work certificate can be used as Emergancy Careers in the workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. As with all our courses we can adapt to suit a particular audience or organisation. The Emergancy Care At Work course is run over four days and includes both theory and practical sessions. By arrangement the course can be run on non-consecutive days, including weekends. The Emergancy Care at Work Syllabus Includes: Emergancy Care Priorities Managing Incidents Basic Life Support Examination of a Casualty Unconsciousness Control of Bleeding Fractures Common Illnesses Burns and Scalds Heart Attacks Eye Injuries Dressings Regulations Recording and Reporting Emergancy Care Kits & Equipment Students/Candidates are independently examined on the final afternoon of the course. Upon successful completion certification is valid for three years
