Qualification Details        
The HABC Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work has been accredited by the regulators of England, Wales and Northern Ireland (Ofqual, DfES and CCEA) and is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). It is supported by Skills for Health, the Sector Skills Council for health.

Qualification Overview
This qualification is aimed at learners already working or preparing to work in industry that is identified within the Company’s risk assessment of First Aid as being lower risk. Learners gaining this qualification will know that  First Aid is the responsibility of everyone involved in the working environment. Its topics are regarded by the Health & Safety Executive as being important to maintaining  good practice in the safe, prompt and effective treatment of injuries and ill health in the workplace.

Entry Guidance
This qualification is assessed through practical and oral questioning through the duration of the course by the tutor. Learners must practically demonstrate the application of the correct techniques in all the First Aid areas indicated within the learning outcomes of the unit. Successful learners will also receive a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualification. This qualification lasts for a period of 3 years, after which point learners will need to resit 
the course. 

There are no prerequisites for this qualification.  It is advised that learners have a 
minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.  
Cohorts are to be no larger than 12 learners per Nominated Tutor. 
This qualification is approved for delivery to the age ranges pre-16, 16-18 and 19+. 
 
Qualification Structure
This qualification is made up of one mandatory unit. 
Learners must successfully complete the assessment  for this unit to achieve the qualification.  The qualification can be taken as a free standing qualification or as part of a wider programme of training.

• 3-day First Aid at Work qualification 
• Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and  Automated External 
Defibrillation

Key Skills
This qualification provides the opportunity for learners to develop competence in key skills and produce evidence towards attaining key skills. The qualification does not ensure key skills are met as this would depend upon learners producing a portfolio of evidence and the mode of study adopted.

A first aid qualification that sits on the national LARA database and maybe subject to funding options for Schools, FE Colleges and Government funded work based learners attending apprenticeship programmes.

Cohort size may not exceed 12 in accordance with HSE regulation for the teaching of first aid at work purposes. 

Fees per cohort to include all training,  recognised manual,  assessment,  and certification for successful candidates at your suitable training venue.

England & Wales
A typical course for 12 candidates runs for two consecutive days with day one running from 09.00 to 16.30 and day two running from 09.00 to 12.00 and includes breaks and assessments and costs £999 per cohort.
